HOROWHENUA JUNIORS BEAT WAIROA

WAIROA, Aug. 9. Playing at Wairoa on Saturday before an excellent attendance, and in glorious weather, the Horowhenua juniors, after a fine display, defeated Wairoa by 14 points to nine. The game was full of incidents, greatly pleasing the oniookers, and while a draw may have been a good result, the visitors really deserved their victory, which was gained in the closing stages. * The score was- nine-all and Wairoa were making a hot attack on Horowhenua's line, when Koro, the visiting winger, snapped up the leather and set off for Wairoa line. Catching his oppopents hut of position, Koro ran over |i^^ween.;«i|hq posts for Ropata t"6vcdnvert";;/flill time coming three minutes later. ' Catley gained the other try for Horowhenua, Ropata landing two penalty goals. .For the winners, Desgrand was the best forward on the ground, his work in the lineouts being excellent. Benning.and Judd also played well, while the best backs were Ropata, Koro and Simpson.
