Reports. and statements of receipts and expenditures were read, considered and adopted from all organisations linked to St. Andrew's: The Ladies' Guild repore was presented by Mrs. M. S. Bartholomew and the Presbyterian Women's Missionary Union (Levin branch) reporfc by Miss E. Andersop. ' - 1 Rev. A. Salmond, aeting superintendent oi, the Sunday Schools, gave a report on the main Sunday School and the Primary Sunday School at Levin. He noted and commended , the growing Sunday School which was being carried on by Mrs. Stanley and- Miss L. 'Jamieson at St. Andrew's Hail, Waitarere Beaeh. The report of the Caledonian Table Tennis Club showed that the club was functioning actively with four tables in play. The Caledonian Tennis Club's report showed that it was facing the coming season with two good courts to work on and the property in greatly improved condition. During the war years it had fallen -into disrepair, but voluntary labour ' and the very considerable help of members of St.. Andrew's board of managers and friends had brought the club facilities into promising condition. The club wo.uld have some leeway in necessary expenditures to make up, but faced the future with increasing keenness and confidenee. Session Review "With thankfulness to God, Session reports that the Christiai\ witness of St. Andrew's has been maintained during the past year," said the Session report, presented by the ■aeting elerk, Mr. A. G. H. Bodley. "Public worship has been hel-d regul'arly in Levin, Waitarere Beach and Muhunoa East. A monthly serviee has been eonducted at Levin Farm,. Kimberley Road. Sunday Schools have eontinued in Levin and Waitarere-. The Bible CiaSs in Levin has been meeting weekly. The minister has co-operated in the Bible teaching at Poroutawhao, Levin, Ohau and Hokio Beach Schools. Church parades of the Highland Pipe Band, and the Levin Guide-s and Scauts have attended serviee. . "Session records the death of a faithful and loyal spirited member, Mrs. Elizabeth Bodley, and gives thanks to God for her Christian bearing and witness in the congregation and district. . • "Session wishes to. thank their- ; minister and commend him to the grace of God for the very painstaking way he is conducting the , wcrk of this" parish, and his work 1 among the schools and various institutions in the district. "Session eommends to all members the Evangelical responsibility that faces St. Andrew's and urges all to take an inereasingly active - share in commending 'the Gospel to : every man's conscience in our town ' and districf." "Voluntary services have again saved the board considerable expenditure in maintenance of grounds and buildings. "Open plate collections at public worship and contributions by way of the weekly freewill offering system have formed the major part of the board's" income. These have , been supplemented by unsolicited donations, and by gifts from church organisations, and the board has again been able to meet local and assembly budget jrequirements without special appeals. "The managers appreciate the manner in which members received the suggestion of a Memorial Pulpit foi^ the late William Davie and contributed for its construction. "The building and maintenance fund now stands at £85- 15s 2d. "The board thanks all organisations ahd individuals who have assisted in the work of tl*e. past year and asks for eontinued interest and support. To members. and ..friends of St. Andrew's the board suggests that in these days of many and varied appeals they shouid not Qverlook the need of supporting their church regularly and generously." S.atisfactory Finances , The treasurer, Mr. G. Cameron, presented the financial statement, duly- audited. It showed that, the year had commeneed with a credit of £84 8s &d and concluded with a credit of £77 6s 4d. The main items pf revenue were collections £422 18s 6d and donations £166 19s 6d. Qn the expenditure side the prmcipal items were mission work £139 7s 2d,.car allowance £70; new area church appeal . £51 10s and rates an'd insurance £34 19s 6d. Officers Eleeted ..
