Plans to Rebuild Old Bailey
LOXDON, August 4. Plans which have been approved for the rebuilding of the famous Old Bailey Court buildings at a cost of £200,000, include the provision of a nursei'y for children and licensed snack bar for the use of all witnesses and jurors. The walls of the Judges' rooms are to be hung with paintings, a number of which have already been chosen by the Chief Recorder, Sir Gerald Dobson. The frescoes in the domed hall are to be restored* ind the marble entrance staircase rebuilt. Two new courtroonis will be con?tructed. The present Old Bailey building was built in the early years of the present 'entury and was opened by Edward VII in 1907. It was seriously damiged during the 1940 air attaeks on Liondon.
