Enjoyable Gift Evening
The Anglican- Hall at Otaki was the** scene of much jollification on Tuesday night, when friends tendered Miss Gloria Jackson and Mr'. Randal Ward a gift evening. Dancing to tuneful music, supplied by Mrs. H. Tews and Mr. N. Walker, interspersed with games ,and a variety of items, kept the assemblage in happy/ mood. Items were contributed by Miss P. Fogden (recitations) , Mr. A. Lumley (humorous numbers) , Miss D. Taylor (piano accordeon selections), Mr. N. Walker (variety on the piano) and Mr. W. G. Rhind (a humorous sketch). Games were won by Mr. B. Housiaux, Miss M. Wallington and Mr. T. Fogden. Bouquets were presented to Miss Jackson by Miss Heather Rhind, and to Mrs. Jackson by Miss Anne Gimblett. The opening of the numerousj parcels created much interest, and a varied collection of useful gifts was received. Miss Jackson jand Mr. Ward- offered their thanks" to all Who had taken part in arranging the evening, and were accorded musical honours. Mr. W. G. Rhind carried out the duties of M.C.
