It was further decided to go into the matter of renovating and bringing up-to-date the memorial bubble fountain. This was left in the hands of Mr. Edhouse. Visiting Committee's Report The monthly report of the visiting committee for July, submitted by Messrs. Edhouse and Wilson, was as follows: "Having inspected the school and grounds, we have to advise that generally speaking they are in good condition except for the few items that we have ~ been endeavouring to ob'tain for the last 12 or 18 months. ' It is pleasing to note that' some of the timber is on the job for the new dental clinic. Water on the verandah and a leak in the roof of the new school have not yet been attended to. A piece of downpipe at the end of the infant school wants renewing urgently, and in view of the increasing number of 'pupils, the Education Board will have to consider enlarging the septic tank. Tar sealing of the back entrance is a matter that should be fully considered by the board, as the present path is most unsatisfactory in the winter months. 'It is suggested that the old stumps near the headmaster's residence be removed and that the ground be levelled off at the top. About one dozen hedge trees are required to fill up gaps in the existing hedge in the front of the school. Timber for four reading tables in upper classrooms is required. Hinges are required for the front gate and the renovation of the tennis court will have to be attended to, otherwise it will-be unflt for play in the coming season. The lines have not yet been marked out on the road for the school children's pedestrian crossing."
