Petitioner said the preserit practice of excluding women from this gallery (as distinet from the public galleries upstairs) was contrary to the principle oflequality and introduced ari undesirable and unjust distinction between the sexes incompatible with the accepted position of women in the world today. Petitioner said the tradition could well be dispensed With iu the interests of justice and asked that women be >ermitted on the floor of the Hou.se on the same terms as men.
