W E LLiJN U-TL/iN , AUgUSX The petition of.Eva Patrieia Angus, of Lower Hutt, presented to the Houso of Representatives today by Mr. Nash, asks t.hat the practice of not permittiiig women to si't in the speeial visitors' gallery on the floor of the House, be revised. Petitioner said the preserit practice of excluding women from this gallery (as distinet from the public galleries upstairs) was contrary to the principle oflequality and introduced ari undesirable and unjust distinction between the sexes incompatible with the accepted position of women in the world today. Petitioner said the tradition could well be dispensed With iu the interests of justice and asked that women be >ermitted on the floor of the Hou.se on the same terms as men.
