Forty Monkeys Wearing Corsets

Forty monkeys are to wear corsets at Illinois University, Chicago. Dr. Andrew Ivy and his band of research workers will study the health of the animals as their corsets are laced tighter and tighter. The aim is to find out whether women, in their passion for slim waists, are injuring themselves. Two women and two men have already, as "martyrs to science," been wearing tight corsets for Dr. Ivy. He is colleeting evidence from past autopsies where there is anyi suggestion that corsets caused stomach ulcers.
