Personal Mrs. F. H. Critchley and Mrs. Fleury, of Tasman Beach, who have been visiting Wellington, have returned to Otaki. Mr. Colin Holmes, of Otaki' Railway, who has been on a tour _ of inspection with the Commission appointed to make a survey of deteriorating lands, has returned to Otaki. At the function tendered Sister Cooper last week, Mr. V. J. CotLe, the district member on the Palmerston North Hospital Board, rexpressed the thanks of the board to Sister Cooper for outstanding services rendered. Wintry Weekend Following a bleak day with pei'sistent rain on Saturday, the weather in Otaki improved considerably on Sunday. With the drop in temperature, the Tararuas received a heavy coating of snow and a sharp frost of eight degrees was recorded on Monday morning. Successful Dance The dance organised by the Horowhenua Hockey Association, aricl held on Friday night at .the Raukawa -Hall, Otaki, was well attended and proved very enjoyable. Mr. c. Hook was an efflcient M.C. and first class music was supplied by Miss W. Tahiwi and Mr. F. Upshall. Novelty dances were won by Miss B. Wilkinson and Miss W. Brunton, and by Miss Rose Hakaraia and partner.
