The blaze was aggravated by stocks of oil, kerosene and rubber, and four hose deliveries made no impression on the flames. A foam branch pipe was used to quell them. Fears were entertained for the safety of the adjoining premises of John Edmond Limited, but a high triple brick wall prevented the flames from spreading. The heat of the fire affected fhe bricks and the safety of the dividing wall has been impaired.
