MASTERTON, July 18. A feature of the Wairarapa Gun (Mub's North Island clay bird champion ship .meeting, at the weekend, was the brilliant .shooting of E. Benton (Morrinsville) who won the Xorth Island double rise clay bird championship, then the Xorth Island sing'le rise championship and several other competitions. Xorth Island dpuble rise champion .ship (59 entries) : E. Benton (Momus ville) 18, II. B. Newman (Hutt) 17. Second optional match: E. Benton I i.T. Dobson (Hamilton) 2, G.- Beard (Palmerston Xorth), C. F. Gunn (Hastings) and F. L. Joblin equal 3. Xorth Island single rise championship (52 entries): E. Benton 25, J. Dobson 24. Optional match: E. Benton 1, J. Dobson 2, J. W. M-ackenzie (Master ton), A. V. Swanson (Wellington), L.T. Thoinasen (Taihape) equal 3. ! £50 trophy: E. Benton and O. Ilosking (Masterton), 20 clays, tied for first place. X. Dornbusch (Ohingaiti) was third. Sweepstakes were won by E. Benton and X. Batchelor (Palmerston North) ; tied, J. F."
