Stones Thrown At Duchess Of Kent's Car
Received Friday, 10.35 a.m. LONDON, July 15. A young man hurled two stones at the Duchess of Kent's car shortly after she arrived at Brighton to open an exhibition dealing with the Regency period. The Duchess, her lady-in-waiting and woman secretary had lef t the car * a few rqinutes earlier. They toured the exhibition unaware of what had happened. The s:ones cracked the windscreen and dented the car's bonnet. The police arrested a man who is believed to be an ex-serviceman with a pension grievance. A man — believed to be the same man — had earlier thrown a stone at the Duchess of Kent's car as it passed through the ,town, but missed. ,
