Baby Caught After Fall

LONDON, July 9. "All.in the day's work" was the only remark made by a Londoner, Mr. Stanley Ashwell, after he had caught a baby as it fell 37 feet from a second storey Aviiyiow. He was serving patatoes in a grocery store when he heard a custotrier shout: "Look at that baby. " He saw an 11-month-old child perc.hed on a window ledge aeross the road. He flung down the bag of potatoes, sprinted over the road and reached the pavenient as the baby fell. It struck a shop window blind ledge and bouneed right into his arms. Its weight of 231b made him stagger and lcnock over a passer-by. As he regained his balance he and the child missed by inches a passing motor van. The baby went to hospital for stitches to a minor cut and Mr. Ashwell returned to his potatoes. The mother stated she had only left the baby for a moinent or two.
