Actress Planned To Enter Convent
When ex-King Miehael of Rumania married Prineess Anne of BourbonParma in Athens, an Italian film actress, Mariella Lotti, who had loved him for nine years, was expected to enter an Italian convent. Mariella met Miehael, then aged 18, when visiting Bucharest with an Italian theatrical company in 1939, says the New York journal American. She spent most of her time in his company. The eouple exehanged ardent letters throughout the war, and Mariella returned to Rumania in 1944, but the Commnnist regime frowned on the romance. Mariella again went baek to Italv, telling Miehael that she would enter a convent. Miehael asked her not to make an irrevocable decision. But later came the announcement of his engageinent to the attractive Princess Anne. Mariella, who was under contract to an Italian film company, has just received notification that her request for adiuission as a novice to the Liarri Convent, near the historic Monte Cassino, has been granted.
