Dog A Source Of Annoyance To Residents

(To the Editor) Sir,— Please allaty me a small space to state a coritinual source of annoyance to residents in and around the locality of Kirk and Bell Streets, Otaki. It is a dog which spends most of .the day barking in a loud, deep yelp. If he is" kept as a watch-dog he is absolutely useless, as he barks often for two hours without ceasing. On Thursday morning he kept up this noise for two hours by the clock until 12.15 p.m„ began again during the afternoon and later from 5.30 until after 6 p.ml Saturday the same thing happened again and during the afternoon there were long bouts of his annoying, loud barking. - Residents within the borough should not be allowed to keep dogs if they cannot control them and keep' them quiet, or from being a worry to their neighbours and surrounding residents. They certainly should think more of 'these people and their- feeiings than keeping a useless dog. I am fond of good dogs, and all animals, if* they are properly handled. Yours etc.' "Worried Ratepayer" Otaki, July 12.
