Big Rally Of Levin Boxers For Tourney
Saturday night will see the first tournament to be staged -this •scason by the Levin Amateur Boxii.c and Physical Culture Club in ihe Rugent Hall. So far 35 liominations have been received and it is oxperled that 17 fights will be staged. Thirteen Levin boys will be partie.ipating, which is the best raily id local talent to compete for somi- vears. Radaj station? 2ZA will broadcast a ringside descrjption of the bouts, and to enable this to be done, Mr. C. M. Wallace has kindly offered the use of his telephone. This is the lirst time that a local tournament has been broadcast. At a meeting of the committee this week, the following officials were appointed: — Announcer: Mr. L. Carmichaei; timekeeper: Mr. H. Hunt; gong sounder: Mr. W. Hanan; call stewards: Messrs. A. Vv'oodmass and L. Lester; glovei stewards: Messrs. D. Convery andl H. Ward; seconds: Messrs. I. and R. Rankin; doorkeepers: Messrs. R. Beattv and R. McKenzie.
