MRS» HILDA JfAMES There passed away. recently after a long illness, one.; who was wellknown. in the Manatvatu -district, in the person of Mrs. Hilda James, of Palmerston North;, Born in Nelson 60 years. ago, sne. came to the Nortn Island with her parents, the late Mr. and .Mrs. Jos. Griffiths, settling in Otaki." It was at Otaki that she married and in 1912, with her husband, moved to Shannon.' There ' Mrs. james loyally supported her husband in clearing the farm propertiest on Kingston Road. In 1935 they reti^ed to Palmerston North, their two sons carrying on with farming- the properties. ' The late Mrs. James was a devoted Christian and was loved by all with whom she came in contact. She was a great lover of flowers and many passing people admired her beautiful garden. Her husband, two sons, Douglas and Henry (Kingston Road, Shannon), and two daughters, Mrs. K. Moodle (Palmerston North) and Mrs. R. Small (Shannon) are left to mourn the loss of a devoted wife and mother. There are also nine grandchildren. Messrs. Lyn and Joe Griffiths, Kimberley Road, are .brothers of the deceased.
