On The Links At Otaki
The Otaki Golf Club played tne second round of the Captain's Trophy on 'Saturday 'under" good conditions. After the' first round E. P. Simcox, with a nett 64, led byone stroke from ,D. S. Harper. With a second round nett total of 71, Simcox retained his lead with 135, W. Rzoska coming into second place with 137, followed by J. D. Cooksley 138, W. D'Ath 139, D. Harper 140 and R. A. Buxton 141. The best nett scores for the day were returned by R. A. Buxton 92 — 27—65 and W. Rzoska 82—15—67. These two received cuts in their handicaps. Other scores were: — J. D. Cooksley 85—15—70, W. M. D'Ath 75—4— 71, T. King 87—16—71; P. O'Rourke 82—11—71, H. Miller 98—27—71, W. Jepson 85 — 14 — 71, W. Morton 86 — 14—72, A. Harper 79—7—72, P. Willis 100 — 27 — 73, N. D. Anderson 87 — 13—74, B. H. Rhodes 92—18—74, D. G.' Reid 92—18—74 and D. G. Sutherland 88 — 14 — 74. Next Saturday the qualifying | round for the Len Shepherd Memorial Cup will be played, and on Sunday the Awatapu Club of Palmerston North will visit Otaki for an inter-c,lub match.
