Gift Evening To Popular Lodge Member
Foliowing the disposal of routirie business at the , meeting of Iti Rebecca . Lodge No. 62 at Otaki on Monday night, members and friends assembled to do honour to Sister Doreen Scatchard'and Brother Ray Harefield on theeye of their marriage. The function was®in the form of a gift evening and after numerous games had placed all pfesent in the best of spirits, a tasty home-made supper was served. Foliowing this, the guqsts of the evening opened . the gift parcels, which were many and varied. An item of attraction. was 'a wonderfulj collection of washing utensils an'd ■ ingredients, blue, pegs, starch, i soap and other necessary wash-dayj needs, all neatly wrapped in cellophane, and most cieverly arranged as a shower bouquet. This was the j work of Mrs. F. Nicholson. The j general comment was that a "new look" ha'd been found for washmg day, too. After further games and thanks had been tendered to donors by the recipients, the even-j ing was brought to a conclusioni with the singing af Auld Lang Syne. ,
