NLLCOX, July 11. The lirst of a series of trials i'or tin: selection of All Blacks for the tour of South Africa, was lreld at Motueka on Baturday. A team selected fi;om the Buller and Nelson Cnions played combiued Grolden Bay-M otueka- : Marlborough. Buller-Nelson wou by 15 point.s to 1 1. Although the ground was slijjpery, the standard of play was good iiud there was a number of spectacular back inovemeuts. For ihe winners, Llie two wingers, 1'. King (Nelson) and lt. Jlawes (Buller), played well and are likely lo be seeii in Jater trials. The outstauding back on Ihe olker side way W. Taylor (CoJden Bay). J. Bryant was sound at full back and kicked three good goals. V/Mumm and T. Anderson (Buller), S. W. Woolley and F. Bonnett ( Marlborough) and T. Jlurley (Motueka), were the pick of tlie forwards.
