Salriiond in St. Andrew's Presbyterian Chutch, Levin, yesterday. "The trutli is that the medical profession has to its credit a long and unselfish record of distinterested service to the cause of suffering humanity that entitles it to the respect and gratitude df everyone. The members of the profession are not exempt from sharing the limitations and foibles of human heings. Large medical institutions, like large ecclesiastical ones, can become impersdnal and inefficient, but the honest practice of the medical profession does demand a discipline and sincerity in the face of life's realities that lifts its endeavours out of the realm of the wishful an'd the magical. The Christian Church .. has consistently encouraged men to see that the results of many years of undisciplined living cannot be wiped out by a wish in a moment. This applies to the physical life of man's body aird the spiritual life of his soul."
