FERTILISER RATIONING APPEALS ON GROUNDS OF HARDSHIP APPEALS' for. additional fertiliser for top-dressing purpbses for the rationing year 1948/49 must be in the hands of the Chairmah of the District Fertiliser Committee by 20th July, 1948. Appeals will be considered only on the following .bases: — 1. From those farmers who have not appealed on any previoiis occasion, or for those properties for which no previous appeal has been lodged by either the . existing or by a ■ f ormer occupier, ■ 2. From those. farrriers who can produce documentary evidence -v to. the effect that they. have brought -in out of virgin coun- ' try during the 1947/48. rationing period areas . which have been sown down to new grass. Appeals from returned servicemen from World -War II, and from others who acquire after the 20th July, 1948, property. for which there is no top-dressing fertiliser allocation, can be considered at any time during the rationing year. ALL APPEALS, MUST BE IN WRITING addressed by the farmer to.the Chairman, District Fertiliser Committee, care of Department of Agriculture for the district in which the property (for which the appeal is lodged) is situated. All applicants must state the name of the vendor from whom it is desired to obtain supplies of fertiliser in the event of the appeal being successful. Documentary evidence in support of appeals hlentioned in paragraph 2 above should cdnsist of a copy of the invoiee for the grass seed, and also sign^d statements from the owners or managers of two neighbouring properties to the effect that the grasp seed was sown on virgin country.
