Rahui Football Club's Meeting
At the fortnightly meeting of the Rahui Football Club, Mr. H. Wylie presided in the absence of Mr. H. Moffatt. It was agreed that the total cost of travelling expenses would be allowed to the fourth grade team in the final round to encourage and assist these young players. The matter of procuring a gymnasium was discussed, and wiU be gone in to. It is quite possible that this long felt want will now eventuate. Mr. A. Cook, a new committeeman, was welcomed. Mr. A. Watt, union delegate, reported on matters discussed at the previous union meeting. Satisfaction was expressed that the various Rahui teams are doing so well this year. This bodes well for the future as it probably means that good talent will be available for some time, many of the younger boys being very promising. The social committee of'the club, which met prior. to the main meeting, was presided over by Mr. C. Russell. Various matters were dealt- with and it was agreed to hold another dance at Te Horo on July 31. Every effort will be made to make this event as popuiar as previous ones. Regret was expressied that the services of Mr. K. Rod- , gers will shortly be lost to the club, he having joined the permanent army. Mention was made of the fact that MfcXRodgers had proved a very valuable'-member- not only dnthe play ing /field, but also as an untiring worker on, the social committee. He will carry with him the best wishes of the club.
