Film Story Of Lord Byron
Sydney Box, one of Britain's leading producers, 'celebrated his silver jubilee of feature film making with the completion of "The Bad Lord Byron" for Gainsborough Pictures.- This screen version of the life of Britain's celebrated poetadventurer has given Denis Price, who has the lead, the greatest opportunity of his career to date. He spent a month with the location unit shooting scenes in Italy, mainly in Venice, where most of the scenes were shot on the Grand Canal and at the Mocenigo Palace, where Bryon lived. Four women in Byron's life head the impressive cast. Joan Greenwood plays Lady Caroline Lamb, who described the poet as "Mad, bad and dangerous to know." Mai Zetterling has the role of Teresa Guiccioli,. his beautiful young Italian mistress. Linden Travers plays Augusta Leigh, his famous half-sister, and Sonia Holm has the role of Annabella Millbanke, ' the woman who became his wife. Red Skelton. Esther Williams, Ricardo Montalban and Betty Garrett will head the starring cast in the new technicolor musical "Neptune's Daughter," which is now in the nroduction stage.
