James Mason Expected To Return As Crusoe
Lat.est reports from Hollywood indicate that there is every likelihood of M-G-M getting James Mason to play the title role in" "Robinson Crusoe." He will be required to go on location on the Bahamas Islands, with an all-male 'cast. It is said that M-G-M's production, in technicolour, would mark the first time that Defoe's classic has been either staged or filmed. However, Hollywood forgets two things — Britain's pantomimes of Robinson Crusoe; and— more seriously — Soviet Russia's three -dimensional feature film which has. the castaway as its hero. It mi'ght be y/orthy to note that Mason has not yet'finished his legal battle with David.Rose, who claims he.and Mason have.a contract to make Hollywood jfilms.
