WELLINGTON, July 8. New Zealanders collectiveiy spent 116 years of time in talking last year and what is more, paid for it. This fact was revealed today hy the Po.stmaster-General, Mr. Hackett, when commenting on the annuai report of tne Post and Telegraph Department which he tahled in the House of liepresentatives. The figure was coniputed from the numher of pennies received in telephone hooths throirghout the country, each penny representing a three-minute convsrsation. TgII calls made in the year ended March last, totalled nearly £24,000,000 an increase of almost £1,250,000 on the previous year.
