FIVE BRITONS KIDNAPPED
Received Thursday, 10.20 a.m. LONDON, July 7. Irgun Zvai Leumi (the Jewish terrorist organisation) kidnapped five British subjects in Jerusalem from a building on which the flag of the United Nations Truce Commission was fiying. This was announced by a Foreign Office spokesman, who added: "We take a very serious view of this action, and assume that the fitfe men will be released immediately," The Belgian Consul in Jerusalem, who is a member of the Truce Commission, has protested ahd asked for the victims to be immediately released. The Britons were not members of the United Nations Truce Commission, but employees of a commerjjial firm.
