Enrolled 273 Members In One Year
Something of a record has been created by a Levin woman, Mrs. W. S. Lett, of Salisbury Street. Anenthusiastic and hard-working member of the Levin Horticultural Society, Mrs. Lett recently set out on a single-handed effort to raise ■the membership. Every year the" society sells membership tickets and last year it had a total membership of a little over 300. Durnig the year' Mrs. Lett was personally responsible for the enrolment of 273 new members. There can be no doubt that this effort has created a long-lasting record, -and at the annual meeting of the society on Tuesday night members expressed their sincere gratitude and keen appreciation of her work. Mrs. Lett has been selling membership tickets since 1902.
