NELSON, July 4. When a motor cycle struck an electric power pole 011 Wakefield Quay at 7.20 last night, two young men visitors fiom Blenheim, suffered head injuries. Botli wtn'e admitted to hospital in an uneonscious eondition. The pillion passenger, who suffered a fraetured skull, died this morning. He. was: Kvan Murrav Ryan, aged 25, sirigle, of 23 Lite.h field Street, Blenheim. Ho was a report er on the ^Marlborough Express. The driver of the motor cycle, who also suffered a fraetured skull, was still 011 tlie seriously ili list today. He is: Hugli Osborne Findlay, aged 23, of 112 Maxwell Road, Blenheim. He is an assistant chemist. As an air pilot Ryan servt-il overseas.
