WELLINGTON, July 1. The question of Church Union for the Oongregational, Methodist, *and Presbyterian Churches was taken oue st?p forward yesterday when ?he postaJ ballot for the Presbyterian and the members' vote for the Methodist and Oongregational Churches clpsed. Circui'fe -otficials of the Methodist Church have vet to vote on the basis of union. A Church union comnlittee of the Presbyterian Church is to meet some finie nexf Pionth, but it is not expected that the result of the voting will be known for some months yet. It Will be at least a mohth before the returning officers of the . Methodist and Congregational Churches have the resillt. If the proposed basis of "urtion is ratified by this vote, it is expected that it will be some time before actual union can be effected. When the eoiftplete forin of a new Church has bbeh decided on it will have to be Igiven • efifect to by' legislation.
