Move Afoot To Form Indoor Bowling Association In District

INDOOR bowling has certainly boomed throughout the Dominion in recent years and there i^s ample evidence that it is finding a stronghold in Levin. Though it has just entered its second season locally, the Levin Ciub's membership has increased substantially arid the game is proving-an attractidn to both young and old, and has certainly established itself as a popular sport. NOW the club is lookipg towards the establishment of an association in the district and, with this in view, is encouraging the formation of clubs in other towns in the district. It will be firmly behind ariy move in this direction, arid is prepared to assist in any way. i

Consequ^nt on the increase in membership has been the purchase • by the local club of addftionai, equipment. Play also has improved) greatly. During the season the club I |has had a friendly visit from the) | Palmerston North Club, and is, hoping shortly' to have a visit from j a Wellington club. • A ppogressiv'e tournament was held re'cently, the winners bemg j Mesdames Buil, Renkin and Forster and Mr. K. Bo water (s) , who won in a plav off from a team skipped oy Mr. W. Bull, the runners-up. It is

their winning margin being three "hnd two. Next weekend the holders will endeavour to make their third bid | for honours, in resisting a ehallenge from C. R. Hosie and A. T. Nicolis, the next chalienging pair.
