Auckland Harbour Bridge

Legislation empowering a com-'-pany to erect and maintain a bridge aoross Waitemata Harbour, Auck*land, and to impose and coliect tolls, is to be repealed by the Auckland Harbour Bridge Repeal Bill . which was introduced and read the flrst time in the House of Representatives yesterday. The Prime Minister, Mr. Fraser, explained that now the Government had undertaken the responsibility of buil'ding the bridge, the company had to be compensated, The company had spent between £10,000 and £11,000 but sa'tisfactory arrangements had been made for all eopcerned.
