Miners Waiting On Council Meeting

GREYMOUTH, June 30. All inembers of the council of United Mine Workers of New Zealand, are ex pected to meet in Greymouth tomorrow night to consider the dispute which has ; idled the Liverpool and Strongmen State mines for the past eight working days. Today the national president, Mr. A. V. Prenderville, reached Greymouth and the secretary, Mr. E. Crook, is due to arrive in the morning. Oth er members of the council from distant parts are expected to arrive also, sorae on the afternoon's express. At its meeting the council will probably hear representatives on behalf oi the Runanga State Miners' Union and the Grey Miners' central committee, both of which have requested the national council to meet and consider the dispute. This is the latest development in the dispute but no indication was possible this evening as to what turn events would. take fom'orraw night.
