WELLINGTON, June 21. A request by the Otago liugby Union for dispeusation froiu the ruling wherobv referees must blow the whistle everv j t i ino the ball goes into touch, was eori sidered at today 's meeting of- the executivo of the New Zealand liugby Union. It was further suggysted that the matter be investigated to see if such a practice was really intended as it appeared to be unnecessarv. Mcrn bers reniarked that the ruling appeared to be causing irritation and served J it ti e useful purpose. Tt was decided to advise that the N.Z.ii.lT. could nogrant any dispeusation but that the matter would be brought before the next meeting of the couneil of tlu N.Z.R.U. and advice sought from Messrs.
