Subjects on the order of reference for the eonference concerned the establishment of uniform standards of obstetrical services, the poliey -regarding maternity liospitals, both public and private, uniformity in nursing training and infant eare, and the ad visability of establishing an obstetrical council from which the Minister could obtain advice on matters affeeting maternity services in New ZeaJand.
