n HASTINGS, June 14. The joint committee set up by the ^linister of Marketing (Hon. E. L. Cullen) last year to prepare a long-tcrm plan for marketing apples and pears has completed its delibOrations, and its recommend'ations for the future marketing of the pip crop have now been placed before the Government for its. consideration. The contents of the joint committee 's report are still coufldential but it is hoped Cabinet will make its decisions known in time for them to be considered at the provincial conferences of the New Zealand Fruitgrowers ' Association next month and at the Dominion conference in Wellington in August. The tindings of the cost committee set up to ascertain costs of production of apples and pears are known to have had an important bearing on the deliberations wliich are aimed at pr oduci ng anequi t abl e plan.
