Children Lack Spiritual Knowledge

A very impressive service was conducted by Rev. M. J. S. Wbeeler at evensong at. the Ven. Beders Anglican Church, Shannon, oh Sunday evening. Mr. Wheeler said that much had been heard recently of an appeal for the starving children of Europe, whose need was so great and the people of New Zealand had responded generously, but although our children were well 4'ed and well clothed they were starved in their spiritual knowledge. The "spoon-feeding" of the rising generation, though one of the first steps, was not the finai answer to the establishment oi brotherhood throughout the world, he continued. The teaching of Jesus Christ was the only answer. Therefore, the same enthuSiasm should be employed in supplying the vital spiritual need of the soul. "Unless we answer their cry of spiritual hunger, they will in time lose their own soul. Therefore, let the parents respond with the same eagerness to see that this great, need is met in their children. Teach them, guide them, and be an example to them of true Christianity at home, and at a. place of wcrship each week. Our children are starving," coneluded Mr. Wheeler. "Feed them."
