WAITARERE'S MEETING
The June meeting of the Wair tarere Women's Institute was presided over by Mrs. Stanley, who welcomed members. Apologies for absence were received from Mesdames Fagan (president) and Behrning. Correspondence included an invi--tation to the Poroutawhao Institute's birthday celobration. Arrangements were made for a sewing day to prepare garments for CORSO and to pack a soSTp fiarcel' for the institute's link in England. Mrs. Hood gave a very full accou'nt of the council meeting she attended as the institute's delegate.' The guest speaker for the afternoon was Rev. A. Qalmond, who gave a highly interesting account
f the ' Otago centennial eelebra.tions, members according him a hearty vote of thanks. The hostesses, Mesdames Hoo.d and Coleman, served afhernpon te.aA competition for a prj^e donp-ted by Mrs. Miller was won by Mrs. ATdrich. The monthly competitions result, ed as follows :^Gems: Mrs. Hood 1, Mrs. Stanley 2. Best .blpom; Mesdames Hood and Stanley 1 (equal), Mrs. Aldrich 2, Mrs. Weldon 3.
