The poroutawhao Women's Institute held its monthly meeting recently. The president, Mrs. Carle, expressed pleasure in welcoming two new members, Mesdames C. Lewis and T. Easton. Mrs. Spiers gave an interesting report on the council meeting at Tawa Flat. A competition for a pair of boy's trousers was won by Mrs. Carle, with Mrs. Tait second and Mrs. Ramsay third. Mrs. S. ' Lumsden won the best toloom, shrub and vegetable competitions. A dainty afternoon tea Was served by the hostesses, Mesdames Sutcliff and Ramsay.
