Australian liners Want 35-hour Week
SYDNEY, June 9. Miners thruughout Australia today asked for a 25-hour working week. Application was made hy the Miners' Federation al a conferenee called by the Coal Industry Trihuual, Mr. F. Gallag'her. The federation claimed a reduction front -10 to 35 hours should he without loss of pny for day workers, contraet rates should he increased with the shortening oi' lnuirs, a 35-hour week should he worked in seven shifts, M011day to Friday, and iuclude a half-hour "erih" time eat-h day. The president of the Federation. Mr. 1. Williams, said evidence would he called in all Btates except Soutli A.ustralia.
