Pcrsondil Messsr.- Johansen and Keightley were Te Aroho visitors to Mangaore last weekend. Mi'sses Bloomfield and Shanks, of the local teaching staff, spent the weekend in Wellington. Mr. Birss, Senr., is spending a holiday with his son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs, A. F. Birss, iSneehan Street. Mr. Maurice Peach, of the P.W.D. Stalf at Gisborne, is spending a few days with his parents, Mr. "and Mrs. F. C. Peach, Ballance Street. Mr. Lloyd Small and .Mi'ss Shirley Kean, of Wellington, were the guests of Mr. and Mrs. R. Small, Stout Street, for the weekend. Mr. and Mrs. B. Hateley, Miss D. Hateiey and Mr. J. Hateley have returned to their home at Mangaore after spending a holiday at Foxton Beach. Mr. and Mrs. G. McLochian have recurned to their home in Hamilton ai'ter spending the weekend as" the guests of Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Ryrie, lvfargaret Street.

Mr. and Mrs. W. Turley, formerly of Shannon and now of Hamilton, arrived nere yesterday morning to visit their many old friends. During tneir stay they wiii be the guests of Mr. O. Coley, Main Road. Card Winners In spite of the holiday attractions on Monday evening, there was a goo'd attendance at the weekiy card evening conducted by the poutu Pan eommittee in Laurvig's Hau. The prize-wmners were Mrs. T. Nepia, Senr., and Mr. I. Peni. Presbvterian Women's Guild Mrs'. J. W. Marim presiaeti. over a good attendance of members at the meetmg of the -Presbyterian Women's Guild recently. Proceeaings opened with prayer and a scnpiure reading. Mrs. T. Martin and Mrs. W. Bain were welcbmed as new members. Routine . business was transacted and arrangements for the sale of work were discussed. Fo'rmal business was c.onciuacd- with prayer. Afternoon tea was served by Mesdames McLeish and Robertsen. Mesdames W. Clayton' and Hannam are tea hostesses 'for the July meeting. During the month ladies of the congregation gathered at the Manse lor an informal afternoon to farewell Mrs. E. N. MacAuiay, who is going abroad.
