Hicks, formerlv acting presidont and scnior viee-president of the Civil Bervice Olerical Association, has been suspended from his post in tiro contracts de]iartment of the Air JMinistrv because of his association with the Communist Pnrtw - Nine days ago the ' Civic Hervice Association rejected his ! nomi nation for prosidencv because he was- a member of the partv. Subsequent'ly he stated that he had never denied he was a member of the Communist Partv, and that he would continue to work for it ''in a humble eapacitv as a member of the Hampstead hranch". More than 20 civil se'rvants have now been susper.ded on full pav pending investjgation- of their alleged political assoeiations.
