CAR LOCKED AWAY FOR 30 YEARS
A £1500 motor car which had ruii only 400 miles and had stood unused in a garage since 1910 was one of the many.items offered for sale at Sinuington Hall. near Pickering, Yorkshire, following tlie death of its owner, Miss Hilda Kendall, aged 74. ■ Thirty vears aigo, MisS KendaH sliruf herself away from the world in a few rooms of her manor house. When the house was opened up last week, two drawing rooms were so thickly festooned with cobwebs that the light was completely shut out. A corner of one laige room had eollapsed without any attempt being made to repair it. None of the clotliing used by Miss Kendall was more modern tlian the late Vietorian style. The. motor car, a super limonsine in its day, was bought by a Leeds busi-1 ness man for £200. Tle intends to ex--hibit it, and tlien to enter it in the annual London to Brighton "old crocks" motor race. »
