American Fleet Could Stay Longer At Sea

Received Thursday, 12.5 a.m. LONDON, June 2. The British Pacifie Eleet supporting the American attaek on Okinawa in 1945, sometimes opened fire on friendiy (ighters, Yice-Admiral II. B. Rawlings, then Second-in-Command, says in his report of the operation, published today. Admiral Fraser, Commander-in-Chief of the British Pac'iflc Fleet says the fleet made British naval history by operating of'f enemy coasts for periods up to 30 days. The American task groups were ablfe to stay at sea twice as long as the British, he-adds. "When we have mastered the technique of ammuni.tioning and storing at sea, we shall also be able to do this.
