Methodist Synod The Ministerial Synod of the Wellington Methodist District will be meeting in Otaki this week when mnisters from the Wairarapa, Wellington and Horowhenua areas will be present. One of the important questions to be discusse'd wdl be that of the proposed union with the Presbyterian and Congregational Churches. Fast Football On Saturday the Rahui thirds were successful in defeating* Shannon thirds by eight points to three in their game at Shannon on Saturday. 'Fast and clean football was witnessed by a large crowd of speccators and it can ue said that m.nor grade football is good this year. For Rahui W. Waaka scored two tries, one of which was converted by W. Cook. Shannon scored one unconverted try. The referee was Mr. G. Woods. Enjoyable Dance

To the music of a proieosionai orcnestia, the large crowd of representative agcs ; thoroughiy enjoyed Itself witn ! dancing. The catering was exceilent anu was under the care of Mrs. R. J. noyal. 'Ihe duties of M.C. were ably carrie'd out by Messrs. K. Rodgers and G. Walker: Compedtion wmners were: Mrs. Hawea, Miss Z. Climie and Mrs. D. Walker. The funds of the ciub wiil greatly benefit from this functioii' and tne committee wishes to thanx aii who so wiiiingiy assisted.
