Levin Lady Bowlers Hold Annual Meeting

l There was an excellent attendance at the annual meeting of the Levin , Ladies' Bowling- Club last week. The president, Mrs. W. Lett, occupied the chair. Apologies for absence were received from Mesdames Sherwood, Moss, Forster and Bagrie. In presenting the club's sixth nnual report, Mrs. Lett said that the season just eoncluded had probabiy proved the club's most successful yet. Unfavourable weather had marred the opening ceremony on October 16, but from the end of that month onwards the club had conducted a considerable programme.

Mrs- Lett. said the club championships had ' resulted ,as follows':— Singles : Mrs. Lacey (third year m succession) ; pairs: Mesdames Lett and Gibson. At the ' Manawatu Centre, ladies' tournament a club rink comprising Mesdames Forster, Lacey, C. Walker and Gibson (s) had won the champlonship. In conclusion, Mrs. Lett conveyed the club's thanks to Mr. W. Bowden fo^ his painstaking work and interest in the green, other gentlemen for their assistance, Mr. H. L. Jenjkins for his services as.honorary lauditor and members of the committee and other members for their help in making the season such a successful one. ; The financial statement showed a satisfactory position. On the motion of Mrs. H. Walker, seconded by Mrs. Gibson, the report and balance sheet were adopted. The following officers were elected for the ensuing year:— Patron: Mr. H. B. Burdekin; president: Mrs-. Gibson; vice -president: Mrs. Lacey; secretary: Mrs. Sharp; treasurer: ,Mrs. Hayes; committee: Mesdames Mudgway, Mitchell, Andrews, McKinstry, Gardner and H. Walker; match committee: Mesdames Gardner, McKinstry and Mudgway; tea ;convener: Mrs. Henderson; dele'gates to , Manawatu Ladies' Centre: Mesdames Hayes and Lacey. ^
