Camerbn is now an eminent ora! surgeon in Philadelphia, U.S.A- • Recently he was the recipient of ah honorary' degree of doctor of science, conferred on him hy the Temple University, Philadelphia. " Pr. Cameron's father was the iiatp Mr. Geprge Cameron, fqr-many years gecrbtary of Bartholoihew's timber mill which was erected at Weraroa in 1887. Dr. Cameron visite-d Levin 10 years ago. - • r The ■ presentation was made by Dr! Robert L. Johnson,- president of Temple, in the presence of 1400 alumni and other visitors who attended. Also included were i representatives of 22 of America's , 40 dental schools.

Timmms, aean oio the school of dentistry, presentedii Dr. Cameron for the , degree andt made the following address; 'Tt is" my privilege to present a man who, i beeause of his service to mankind in general and Temple University in particular, has earned national j and interna-tional recognition. . ! "He was born in Wellington. He came to the United States to study his chosen profession, and uppn cqmpletion of the requir.ed studies graduated from the University of Pennsyivania with the degree of dental surgery. Immediately after graduation he began his life of service for which he has had every honour to be given in his chosen, specialty, oral surgery.' | "He served in the dental corps of the * United States Army in World Wai- I. He became chief of the dental oral surgery service in Pennsyivania hospital ■ in 1916,, which position he still holds. He was elected vice-president of the medical staff of Pennsyivania Hospitai in April, 1944, but acted as president of the staff until he was elected president in Qctober, 1944, which position he held until Jamrary, 1947.

He is past president of the' Pennsyivania Association of Dental Surgeons, the Stomatological Club of Philadelphia, the American Society fpr the advancement of general anesthesia in dentistry, the Pan-American Odontological Association and is presently the president-elect of the American Society of- Oral Surgeons. He is founder and tnember of the American board for certification m oral surgery. | "He was appointed professor of | oral suj-gery at Temple University School of Dentistry in October, ' 1933, and has held that "chair wi'th, distinction since that date. He ls, recognised as an outstanding ( teacher oi his subject, and beeause! of his interest in students he | remains their consultant long after their academic careers have , ended. "During World War II he served2 as instructor in maxillo-facial j surgery courses given to medical | and dental officers of the United 1 States Army, and ls now servmg through the courtesy of Temple University as professor of oral surgery in the graduate school of medicine on' the University of Pennsyivania. He is also consultant in oral surgery for the veterans' administration. ,
