The Koputaroa church building fund revealed a credit of £6 5s 3d. The new church building fund had inereased by £294 6s 2d duriug the year, the eapita! inyest,ed for this purpose now totallmg £6492 13s ld. The report expressed the fndebtedness of the parish to the staff and boys of the Levin Training Centre for having. made and presented a scale model of the proposed new church. It also cmigpatulated St. Mary's Guild on another highly . suecessful year of activlty. Parish Trust Board memherg: 'Messrs. J. E. W. Avery, W. Bull, H. ,L. Jenkins and A. G. Powell. The vicar congratulated Mr. W. Bull on his 30 years' service in the I vestry, including several years as I church warden. Mr. Bull had fqund it necessary tq retire from the vestry. A hiotion of thanks for his services duripg the year was passed to the honorary auditor, Mr. Sorenson. General Matters [ Mrs. Milnes drew attention to the handfcgp to the work of St. Mary's Guild a;s a result of the cupboards in the kitchen of the church hall being plgced in such a position that they bloeked the light from the windows. This led to a -prolonged discussion during which the questions of letting the hall, provision of a slot mefer for the gas heaters, storage of equipment by organisations u'Sing the hall and other matters in eonnection with the building were raised. Ultimately it was resolved that the vestry take into pqnsideration the question of cupboards and other fittings blocking the windows, the installation of a slot meter for the gas heaters and* the revision of the hir-e charge's for the hall. Mr. Hall sought support for the Church qf England Men's Society from the men "pf the parish, stating that the pumbers had dwindled cqnsiderably since the forma4iqn of the branch. A vote" df fhapks was passed to Ml". and Mrs. W. Storey for ;their valuable service in caring for the Weraroa Hall on behalT of the vestry. This eqncluded the business and supper was dispensed by membqrs of St. Mary's Guild.
