Government Reception For Catholic Prelates
AUCKLAND, May 14. ; TravelHng in a specially chartered aircraft the Arch.bish.op of New York, Cardinal Spellman, and other • American prelates and priests who are ac* companying him on a Paeific tour paid a brief visit, to Wellington today. Aftei his Eminence had attended a Government reception at Parliament Buildings and a public gathering in the Wellington Town Hall the party returned to Auckland. During the afternoon the American Catholic authof and scholar, Monsignor Sheen, spoke to the nursing staff of the Mater Misericordiae Hospital tonight on the spiritual aspeets of theii work and Cardinal Spellman spent the evening with Bishop Liston. Tha visitors leav-e by air tomorrow fof Sydney. _
