V L WELLINGTON, May 12. Consequent upon the retirement o-£ Mr.' Caradus as chief inspector of postprimary schools, fux-tlxer changes in the post-primary inspectorate were an« nounced today by the Minister of Education. Mr. A. R. Hynes, senior inspector of .Technieal Schools, has been promoted to senior inspector of post-primary schools (higher grade). Mr. J. L, Cameron, who was appointed to the inspectorate in . 1943, ' has also been - promoted to senior inspector postprimary schools. Mis's L. A. S. Hurdle, a xnember of the inspectorate since 1943 and formerly principal of the Timaru Girls' High Sehool, has received promotion to senior inspector of post-primary schools. Slxe has the distinction of being the ixrst woman in New Zealand to attain the rank of- senior inspector.
