Queen Wants Dominion Girls To Dress Their Prettiest

i The Queen wants all the girls she meets in Australia and New Zealand to "dress in the frocks they feel theylook prettiest in." Her M'ajesty said this to Mrs. Beasley, wife of Mr. J. A. Beasley, Australian High Commissioner, during a recent talk about the Roval tour.

Mrs. Beasley, telling a MeLbourne Herald repreSentative about it, said: "I told the Queen I was receiv.ing letters from girls inquiring wnat ought to be worn at Royai functions. The Queen authorised me to say that she was anxious that all ^ unnecessary expense should be avoided. "The Queen added that Australia's attractive girls w'ere among the most vivid memories of her 1927 tour. She was sure the new generation must be equally attractive -and . hoped they would feel completely free to dress simply and naturally as they like-d. "The Queen ieft me with the impression that girls should not worry about the feathers worn at Court presentations in England. There will be no' formal Court in Australia and extreme formality will be quite unnecessary. "The only 'musts' are that long white gloves should be worn with short-sleeved frocks and gowns and short gloves with elbow-length sleeves. Stockings should always be worn."
